Telestra Data Sheet

ASTi's Telestra suite of products provides comprehensive sound and communications simulation software and equipment. Telestra software installed on the Telestra server, an embedded, real-time platform, hosts all of the model data and system configurations. Studio software, a powerful suite of software applications, allows you to manipulate projects installed on the Telestra server.

Software Overview

The Telestra server is an embedded, real-time sound and communications modeling platform, running on multiple network devices providing high-fidelity radio and communications and environmental cue modeling applications. The Telestra server also runs the Telestra web interface for headless setup and management.

The Telestra server connects to ASTi's flexible, network-based ACENet architecture and remotely distributed ACENet audio interfaces (e.g., ACU2, ACE-RIU), which provide a highfidelity, scalable, digital audio and I/O distribution network for remote connection of operator headsets, microphone, speakers, live radios, hand-held terminals, control panels, and other peripheral devices.

Studio is a suite of software tools incorporating sound and communications model development, project management, communications monitoring and fault analysis, and equipment status and configuration. Studio software provides remote access to all networked simulation models and equipment from a single development workstation.

Studio is available on a Telestra server with a removable hard drive or as a virtual machine on a customer-furnished computer. For more information about Studio, go to the Studio Technical User Guide.

The following table shows Telestra's operating system, software, and security software versions:

Operating System RHEL 8.x1
Software Version 8.x.y (e.g., 8.0.0)1
Security Software Version 3.x.y (e.g., 3.0.2)1

Hardware Overview

ASTi's Telestra server consists of a high-performance, network-scalable, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)-based hardware platform. The Telestra server runs as an embedded, real-time platform, providing high-fidelity radio and communications and environmental cue modeling using Telestra software.

For more information, go to the Telestra Server Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Telestra Server Specifications

This section provides essential technical details about the Telestra server, presenting core specifications, such as the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) for the server and solid-state drive (SSD). Additionally, you'll find comprehensive information on chassis-dependent specifications, including part numbers, weight, and power requirements for the 1U and 2U chassis options.

Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF)

The following table displays MTBF rates for the Telestra (P/N: TL-AT) configuration:

Server 100,000 hours 2
Solid-State Drive (SSD) 2,000,000 hours

The following table displays MTBF rates for the Telestra (P/N: ASTI-SRV) configuration:

Server 67,523 hours 2
SSD 1,500,000 hours

2 To be confirmed by field data.
