Telestra 3 App Note

MBV Software Upgrade to 3.27 or Later (#70)

If upgrading to Model Builder Visual (MBV) software version 3.27-1 or later from MBV software version 3.26-4 or older, you must perform a Cold Start. The user must backup all configuration files and models to a different machine prior to performing the Cold Start.

To upgrade from MBV software version 3.26-4 or older to 3.27 or newer:

  • Backup the System Configuration and all user Models
  • Perform a Cold Start
  • Recreate system configuration and users and restore models

If you are upgrading a Diskless Server, you may need to perform some additional manual backup procedures. See Application Note #67 for details.

Backing up the System Configuration and Models

If upgrading to Model Builder Visual (MBV) software version 3.27-1 or later from MBV software version 3.26-4 or older, you must perform a Cold Start. The user must backup all configuration files and models to a different machine prior to performing the Cold Start.

In addition to the System Configuration Backup, the user must back up models in the individual system accounts.

Note: The model backup also saves the sound files associated with the model.

What files are backed up via the Telestra web interface?

  • TelestraConfig: All configuration settings such as network settings and system preferences
  • RadioEnvironmentConfig: All Radio Environment settings including filter lists
  • XServerSetup: All monitor screen settings such as your specified screen resolution
  • Options: All option files loaded on your system

  • PropagationConfig: All radio system configurations used to produce realistic communications in the virtual environment including time-of-day, time-of-year, global location, solar cycle, sunspot activity and more
