I can’t log into my Telestra web interface account. How can I reset my password?

If your Telestra web interface account is locked, you can reset your password with a Linux user account. This procedure only applies to the web interface; to reset your Studio or Telestra server credentials, go to I can’t log into my Telestra server, Studio, or Voisus Server platform. How can I reset my account?

To reset the Telestra web interface password, follow these steps:

  1. Open a terminal on the associated Telestra server.

  2. At the prompt, enter root, and press Enter. Enter the current root password, and press Enter again. The default password is abcd1234.

Important: If your system uses ASTi’s Information Assurance (IA) software, log into the system as admin. The default password is admin.

  3. To go to the local ASTi user directory, enter cd /usr/local/asti/etc, and press Enter.

  4. To reset the user credentials, enter cp user.auth.new user.auth, and press Enter.

  5. To restart the system, enter reboot, and press Enter. Upon reboot, the Telestra web interface account resets to use the default username of admin and password of astirules.
